Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. It’s often messy, frustrating, and overwhelming.
And most people will bow out before they “succeed.” Because they don’t have the entrepreneurial grit and tenacity it takes to build a business that will grow and last.
It can NOT be done perfectly. And it will be messy.
Because no matter how much you pre-plan and prepare, there will be obstacles.
The product launch you spent 40 hours a week for 6 months preparing for fails.
Your computer melts down as you’re backing up your files and you lose everything for your business.
You hedged everything on the loan you didn’t get, and you can’t pay rent.
How you handle the inevitable obstacles will make or break your business.
So what do you do?
Do you respond like a deer in headlights and shut down? Taking forever to decide what to do next. Because you worry that every decision might be the wrong choice.
Do you come up with solutions quickly, but can’t decide which one is best? And even when you do decide you second guess whether it was the right choice.
Does it feel like nothing you do ever works? And it makes you question whether you should keep going.
Perhaps you melt down and get crazy emotional, taking days to process and get over it before you can even deal with it.
Or maybe you’re a super quick action taker who doesn’t “think it through” which causes you to go down the wrong rabbit hole a lot. And you end up having to backtrack and clean up more messes.
The reality is, that most people don’t deal with obstacles well. And for most people, that’s fine. Because they can tailor their life to avoid most obstacles. But as an entrepreneur, you can’t do that. They are inevitable.
And your ability to handle these obstacles in a constructive way will be a MAJOR factor in the growth of your business.
Because doing it wrong affects your business exponentially as it grows. So even if poorly dealing with obstacles is not having much of an effect now, it will in the future. Unless of course, you don’t want to grow your business. (Which is totally okay, it’s not for everyone.)
One of the reasons I love doing my podcast (Be the Wolf: be who you were born to be) is that I get to share stories and tips about overcoming obstacles.
This week I talk with True Crime Author, Pepper Anne, who had to overcome unspeakable obstacles to finish her book The Notorious Texas Swindler. She is a true example of the entrepreneurial grit and tenacity it takes to bring your gifts to the world and succeed in business.

#71 It just Keeps Getting Bigger with Terry Tucker, Founder of Motivational Check
Thursday Nov 09, 2023
Thursday Nov 09, 2023
When you’re small your world is small. You know little beyond your caregivers. And you long for love, attention, and safety. But then you grew, and your world expanded. You discovered friendship, joy, and belonging.
And then you grew some more and struck out on your own. The world was a big and wild place and you wanted to make your mark.
You worked hard and you faced challenges.
You probably started with a “regular” job. But somewhere along the way, you discovered that it wasn’t “big” enough for you. You wanted more!
Maybe you wanted to do something meaningful and make a greater impact. Maybe you wanted time flexibility and financial prosperity.
Whatever your reasons, you took the leap into entrepreneurship and creating your own thing.
And although you’ve faced challenges in the past, you had no idea that you’d be on a crazy rollercoaster (without a seatbelt).
The good news is that with every turn, fall, and loop you survive, your world gets bigger and more becomes possible.
Some will decide it’s too much. It’s too hard. They’ll step down, play it safe, get a “job,” and make their world smaller.
But once you’ve gone big, it’s hard to go back. Because you can’t “unknown” what you know.
The brave will keep going. They’ll keep pushing through the challenges. And they’ll figure out a way to overcome!
And sometimes when we’re on the roller coaster ride, we need some inspiration. We need to be reminded that it’s possible.
So this week on my podcast I bring you Terry Tucker, Founder of Motivational Check. He has faced more challenges than most as a former SWAT Team Hostage Negotiator and 11-year cancer warrior.
He has used 4 Truths to help him navigate the dips and turns in his life and business. Join us this week on Be the Wolf to hear his story and learn the Truths.

#70 Can Numbers Reveal Your True Path with Numerologist Dr Craig Wright
Wednesday Oct 25, 2023
Wednesday Oct 25, 2023
Life is funny. For many people, the path was laid out before you even knew you had a say. Your parents had some grand vision of who you would be and what you would do.
And most people lean into that vision and try to “do their parents proud.”
But sometimes, an event or series of events will come along and shake everything up.
And it makes you think, “Hm… maybe ‘my path’ is different. Maybe I’m not supposed to follow the path that’s been laid out for me.”
If you’re an entrepreneur, I’m certain you’ve had at least one of these moments.
And if you choose to follow your own path you’ll run into some obstacles along the way. And people will be in your ear telling you what you “should” do.
You can follow all their rules, but at some point, the “should do” path won’t be the RIGHT choice for you or your business.
You’ll need to have the know-how and the strength to say (over and over again), “No, my path is different.”
Because your true path can’t be plugged into a GPS. And the map for it can only come from within you.
I love sharing stories of people who’ve connected to and are living their true path on my podcast. And this week I will speak with Dr. Crag Wright. He is a numerologist, and a Metaphysical Minister and Practitioner who had a major event shift his life path. And now he gets to help others map out their true path with the use of numbers. Join us to hear his story and learn more about the secrets of numbers.

#69 Am I Good Enough to Do This? with Laura Eigel, Organizational Psychologist
Wednesday Oct 18, 2023
Wednesday Oct 18, 2023
Believe it or not, one of the key components to feeling satisfied and happy in life is to ALWAYS be growing.
It’s built into our chemical makeup for survival. We get dopamine hits off of overcoming challenges and recognizing we are better than we were yesterday.
It’s part of why so many people leave the workforce to go into business for themselves. That along with bosses who’re stuck in their ways and don’t innovate and the lack of freedom and flexibility.
There is no shortage of opportunity for growth because there are endless obstacles.
It’s not easy. And it’s messy as F!
Sometimes that growth edge feels like too much and the obstacles feel insurmountable. And it leaves you wondering if you’re good enough to actually do this.
I want you to know that you are … good enough. That you can get through this, and you don’t have to do it alone.
This is part of why I share stories of entrepreneurs who are making it work on my podcast. Ones who keep leaning in, growing, and overcoming.
This week I talk with Laura Eigel, Organizaional Psychologist. Even though she had a Ph.D., she found herself thinking she wasn’t good enough at many points in her career. But she kept stepping through the fear. And when she realized she wasn’t growing anymore she took the entrepreneurial leap to help others.

The feeling, that there is something wrong with you, is one of the biggest happiness and business saboteurs.
And it’s not an easy thing to overcome. Especially because nobody wants to admit to feeling this way. And subconsciously your mind will do everything to avoid facing this feeling.
You do need to know you’re not alone in feeling this way. And it is 100% possible to overcome it. And the best part … when you do, EVERYTHING in your life will get better (not just your business).
One of the reasons I do a podcast is to highlight the fact that you’re not alone in your struggles. And to show you that these struggles can be overcome.
This week I will be speaking with Dilshad about that blanket feeling of heaviness. The one that affects your business and everything else in life. And leaves you just going through the motions and always wondering, “What is wrong with me?” And the best part is we’ll talk about what it takes to get to the other side of it all and access the happiness that is your birthright.

#64 Do You Have to Suffer to Do Meaningful Work? with Way Shower Robin Lynn Wilson
Wednesday Sep 13, 2023
Wednesday Sep 13, 2023
Work is always better if you are doing something you believe in. Something that’s meaningful to you.
Unfortunately, a LOT of jobs that do meaningful work, don’t take care of their employees.
A friend of mine was worked to the bone, and on-call 24/7 at a job that paid her a fraction of what she was worth. She loved that the company helped animals. Something that was incredibly important to her. When it came time for a raise there was no money.
Another past client of mine, worked at a nonprofit because she loved the mission of the company. But they gave her so much work that she was on the verge of a mental health break.
Nonprofits and companies with positive missions are just like all other companies. Some are run well and a great place to work. Others are run terribly and are horrible places to work.
Their admiral mission won’t stop them from treating you like you’re worthless and working you to the bone.
A LOT of them still have gross office politics, big egos, and people who will betray or blame you for their faults.
They’ll still pay you poorly and pass you over for promotions.
I’ve even seen some who don’t pay their employees on a regular basis.
This is why so many people who want to do good work in the world start their own businesses.
The thing is, you shouldn’t have to suffer to do good and meaningful work in the world. And that’s why I love talking to people like Robin Lynn Wilson. She’s always been called to do good work in the world. But there came a point when she wasn’t appreciated for what she brought to the table, and she suffered. She went through quite a journey to come out the other side and what she discovered will surprise you.

Does it feel like it’s your job to make sure everyone around you is okay even though you’re trying to run a business? And on top of that, they never appreciate it.
You know the person you hired to help you with your logo, or marketing, or bookkeeping is going through it personally so they keep dropping the ball. But you say yes, it’s okay. I understand, take your time.
And you end up doing half the work yourself because you feel bad for their situation.
Your friend thinks that because you work for yourself, you can help her move in the midweek, in the middle of the day!
And you say yes! (Even though you don’t have the time!)
Some rando on LinkedIn wants to pick your brain, and you’re so grateful it wasn’t a sales pitch that you said yes. You don’t have the time or energy for this. And then when he asked if you could meet with him again, you still said yes.
Come to find out later that he’s just trying to get a date with you.
You run into an acquaintance who’s having a birthday party. And even though you’re exhausted, you feel like you “have to” show up. Because you don’t want her to think you don’t like her.
It’s always something. It feels like everyone wants a piece of you, and you keep saying yes.
You keep doing, they keep NOT appreciating.
Is it any surprise you feel like a burning ember in a campfire?
For many people, it’ll take a major catastrophe or a near-death experience to release the “say yes” habit. I do NOT want that for you.
It’s why I love talking to people who’ve released the “always say yes” habit on my podcast. Because it helps others understand what they can do to release their own “say yes” habit.
Join me this week for a conversation with entrepreneur and Founder of Wild Yoga Tribe, Lily Allan-Duenas, to learn how she stopped saying yes to everyone else and started saying yes to herself.

You know what needs to be done to finish the POUT [put off until tomorrow] project. And it’s not even hard. But try as you might, every time you sit down to work on it, that little voice inside your head says, “Nah, we can do it later. You still have three days.”
So you tell Sally that you can proofread that report she’s been working on. And when John stops by to ask if you can help him solve “another” problem, you say sure and jump to his aid
The next day you open the documents to work on the POUT project. Then you have a never-ending battle in your head about which part of POUT to work on.
You imagine every which way to go about the work, trying to figure out which way makes the most sense. Which way would be the most efficient? Which way will prevent having to backtrack and do things twice?
You tell yourself, “If I can plan it RIGHT, I will save time.”
Forty minutes later, someone comes by to tell you that the new girl brought donuts.
You jump without hesitation. ”Don’t want to miss the donuts!” you tell yourself.
But deep down you know you’re avoiding the POUT project.
Finally, at about 5:30 you are finally feeling it. You’ve gotten a solid 40 minutes of work done on POUT. But at 5:45 Lacy comes by and says that everyone’s leaving for happy hour in 15 and you better come because she has so much to tell you about Lars from accounting.
The next morning your head’s FOGGY and getting out of bed is … let’s just say “not fun.”
But you do it anyway. You have to! The POUT project is due tomorrow! And you know you’re going to have to pull an all-nighter to get it done.
Why do you do this to yourself? You’d think you’d have learned your lesson by now, but no. Procrastination has become your permanent self-sabotaging companion, and you’re sick of it!
Well, if you’re really sick of self-sabotaging I bet you’d be interested in checking out this week’s podcast.
This is the fourth episode of four I’m doing with Carolyn Wallace on the survival archetypes. And this week we are talking about the Saboteur. This is the part of you who procrastinates, and talks you out of those things you KNOW are good for you. The Saboteur will do everything possible to keep you in your comfort zone. It wants everything to stay the same, even if you don’t like it. If you’re not happy about something in your life, it’ll be the part that talks you out of taking the steps to change that thing. So check out this episode so you can learn how to deal with the saboteur.

Do you think of yourself as a good person? How about money driven?
I’ve found that most people who think of themselves as “good people” Don’t think of themselves as money driven.
But most of them are.
You see a lot of “good people” are suffering in jobs that make them miserable. But when I ask them why they won’t leave, 9 out of 10 times they say because of the money.
So essentially they are sacrificing their well-being, health, their relationships, their ethics, and their integrity for “the money.”
I’m no one to judge here. I’ve been there, done that.
I worked myself straight into burnout. At one point I had 5 jobs. I went to work with 102-degree fevers and feeling like death. And missed countless weddings and special events. Even though relationships were a top priority for me.
Ultimately, I did it all for the money. I did it for safety. I did it to survive.
I was so afraid there wouldn’t be enough. Or that someone would fire me if I took a day off. Even though I was the hardest worker at the company. I was afraid the company would go under, and then I wouldn’t have a job. (This happened anyway, because my stupid boss wouldn’t let me fix anything.)
I did this because I was forever in survival mode. So I sold my health and relationships for the security of money and a job. And to be honest, even with all that sacrifice, I never had enough to feel truly safe. I never had enough to feel like I could leave my job and find one I actually liked.
When I had 5 jobs, I did the uncomfortable thing and I left one of them. So I’d have more time to work on a project that was meaningful to me. But I never worked on it. I just filled that time with more work from the other jobs, Netflix binges, or a good whisky night that trashed my productivity the next day.
And I know I’m not the only one. One of my past podcast guests got on a plane 8 months into a difficult pregnancy so she wouldn’t lose a big commission. And as a result, she went into preterm labor (everything worked out okay).
But she realized that she’d risked the health of her child for “the money.”
The thing is, this kind of behavior happens because you feel powerless in survival mode. But you’re not–powerless.
You can create a good life where you don’t have to sacrifice the things that are important to you for your job, security, and “the money.” You can even do it without leaving your current job!
One thing that’ll help you is to check out this week’s podcast episode. This is the third episode of the archetype series, and Carolyn Wallace and I will talk about the prostitute archetype. The “prostitute” is the one who sacrifices their morals, ideals, integrity, people pleases, and yes sometimes their body for the sake of “survival.” We’ve all dipped into this behavior at some point or another in our lives, but if you’re stuck there, you’re going to need a roadmap out. So check out this episode to find out how you can break free from this pattern.

Ever have this happen to you? Your boss pops their head in at the end of the day and says, “Oh, and before you go, can you do one more thing? I’ve got a dinner to get to.”
And they dump another 2 hours of work on you.
You lament to the sky, with a well full of tears in your eyes, “Why me? Why does this keep happening?”
The thing is, this will keep happening unless you stop it, but there are forces that you need to understand first.
And that’s why Carolyn Wallace and I are going to do a deep deep dive conversation on the archetype that creates this scenario. So that you can embrace your inner strength and stop this pattern from happening.
Join us for our second of four conversations on my podcast about the survival archetypes. We’re talking about the archetypes that EVERYONE has within them. This week we’ll explore the victim archetype. And when you understand more about this, you can stop people from taking advantage of you!

Oh no, it happened again! 😩
You got put on the same project team as irresponsible George. It isn’t fair and it feels personal.
Just because you’re the responsible one, doesn’t mean you should have to work with the person who doesn’t pull their weight!
George is nice enough, but he’s HELL to work with.
He comes in late, he does a half-ass job and always has an excuse.
And whenever the bosses are around, he puffs up his chest and starts barking orders. So that he looks like he’s a leader who’s taking charge.
The last time you worked with him, the team missed their deadline. You did everything you could to save the sinking ship.
George had only one job. Unfortunately, it was the final ingredient to finishing the project.
You thought you’d made it failsafe. “If he only has one easy thing to do, he can’t screw up,” you thought. That was a mistake!
You made sure he had everything he’d need a week ahead of schedule.
And still, he couldn’t do it. And when the bosses called the team into the office, irresponsible George threw everyone else under the bus.
And the worst part is the bosses fell for it! And you had to suffer the consequences. Even though you did the most work and were done a week ahead of schedule.
The whole scene would’ve been funny if it wasn’t your life!
This isn’t the first time you’ve wondered how some people who act like irresponsible children can get through life.
George is the epitome of the “child” archetype, but we ALL have this child archetype within us. And the more you understand about it, the better you can rise above it. And deal with the Georges in your life.
I am super excited to be doing a 4 part podcast series about the 4 archetypes EVERYONE has within them. Psychotherapist and Archetypal Consultant, Carolyn Wallace and I are going to dive into how these archetypes show up in your professional and personal lives. This week we speak about “the child.” This is a must-listen if your coworkers are irresponsible or your boss throws tantrums or is a, ‘“My way or the highway” kind of jerk.

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “You can’t control other people, you can only control yourself.”
This essentially means you’re going to have to live with your bosses constantly looking over your shoulder nitpicking everything you do. Because you can’t control them!
You’re going to have to deal with your egotistical, self-serving, incompetent coworkers talking down to you. Because you can’t control them!
You’re going to figure out a way to handle the over-the-top workload that never ends. Because you can’t control that either!
These things are consistent. And consistent things create results. Not always good results (obviously).
The result is that your job’s making you miserable.
If I had a dollar for every time someone said they hate their job, I’d never have to think about money again. Why, because it’d be a large, consistent, never-ending stream of income. The consistency would create the “result” of me being very very rich.
So you can’t control the things you hate about your job, but you can control YOU.
So let’s look at what you’re consistently doing that might be playing a role in your job misery.
Well, you’re going to a job you hate every day. But I’m pretty sure this isn’t the first miserable job you’ve had. And nobody really wants to put in all that effort and have the new job be as bad or worse than this one.
So what else are you doing consistently?
- Getting angry and frustrated about things that are out of your control?
- Saying yes when you’re already maxed out?
- Thinking about work when you’re not working (obsessively)?
- Hitting happy hour to deal with work stress and waking up foggy and cranky?
- Shutting down in meetings when nobody listens?
- Constantly replaying negative interactions in your mind?
What would your life be like if you could stop doing these things? Even just one of them?
The thing is, a lot of these consistent habits started long before you ever got into the workforce. And that’s why they’re so hard to break. Most people can “NOT” do them from time to time, but they can’t do it consistently. And to create results, you need consistency.
Imagine how much better work would be if you didn’t think about what your boss or coworkers were doing. If their actions didn’t affect you or make your brain go down the spiral of doom.
Wouldn’t it be easier to get your work done?
Wouldn’t you have more fun when you’re not at work?
So think about it, what are you doing consistently that contributes to your work misery?
Because changing one thing, and being consistent about it, you can change everything!
This is why I love talking to people who’ve made a single change that affected their whole life for the better on my podcast. For Brock Zevan all he did was change one thing. But by changing one thing, and staying consistent, EVERYTHING else changed too.
The thing is, you don’t have to change a BIG thing to make a BIG impact. You can start with one little thing. Like listening to inspiring shows, like my podcast. The consistency will have a bigger impact than you could imagine.

#57 How’d I get here again? with Consultant and Coach Mike O’Connor
Wednesday Jul 26, 2023
Wednesday Jul 26, 2023
I bet you’ve had one of those weeks. You know the ones where nothing ever goes right. And no matter how much work you’ve already done, your boss asks you to do “one” more thing, fifteen times.
Never mind the fact that you’ve got personal stuff going on. You’ve picked up the slack for three coworkers, and you’re barely holding your head above water.
When you got this job, you weren’t sure if you could do it. But you had to get out of your last position. The stress was killing you.
You worked hard. You went above and beyond to prove that you could do it. And little by little you discovered that you were capable.
And everyone else saw it too. So they kept piling on the work.
You put your head down and did it ALL. You didn’t want to give them any reason to get rid of you.
As the work piled on, the reality sank in. You’d never be able to keep up. It was too much! And you began to wonder, “Maybe I can’t do this job after all. Maybe I’m not good enough.”
Hello imposter syndrome! 😫
But we all have to work. So you show up every day. Pushing yourself to the max. Continuing to do everything they want, even though you know it’s slowly killing you.
And bit by bit, everything else in your life starts falling through the cracks.
And you think to yourself, “How’d I get here again? Isn’t this why I left my last job?”
This is exactly where Mike O’Connor was when he decided to make a big life change. And yes men struggle with these things too! He struggled with perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and an inability to say no. Join us for a deep-dive conversation about how he overcame these struggles.

#56 Living to work or working to live? with Author Dr. Susan Landers
Wednesday Jul 19, 2023
Wednesday Jul 19, 2023
When you were little did anyone ever ask you, “What kind of friend will you be when you grow up?” or “How will you create joy when you grow up?” or “How will you be healthy when you grow up?”
I didn’t think so.
But I bet you can remember being asked, “What do you want to “be” when you grow up?”
This is the moment it started. When you knew that your job would be the most important part of who you are. It was the point when you were told your work would be the most important thing.
And there was a clear path. Get good grades, go to college, and get a “good” job. Work hard, get promoted, and do NOT screw up this part of your life.
Because this is who you are.
If you screw it up, everything comes crashing down. Because everything in your life depends on work.
People decide what kind of person you are based on what you do. So it determines relationships and the opportunities you have.
And then there’s the obvious. It puts a roof over your head, food in your belly, and clothes on your back.
Making sure you do it RIGHT and do it well matters. So you work your butt off, proving yourself day in and day out. Making sure you never make a mistake. Making sure there is never a reason to let you go.
And before you know it, the job has become all of who you are. No other aspect of you matters. The part of you who is a good friend or partner takes a back burner. The part who likes to dance and see live music gets put in the closet. The part of you who is healthy and takes care of your body is abandoned on the side of the road.
You spend late nights and weekends working.
And little by little your friends stop calling. Anytime you have off is spent “recovering” from the long work week. More Netflix binges with a pint of ice cream in hand. And even if you have a partner, life starts to feel more and more lonely.
If this sounds like you, you’re not alone. The most common regret people have as they get older is that their life revolved around work instead of the things they love.
But when most people try to pull back and create more “balance,” it sends them into sheer panic. What good is it to spend more doing things you love when the whole time you are stressing about work?
This is why I love doing my podcast. I get to share stories of people who’ve overcome that panic. So that you know that it can be done!
This week I speak with Author and Neonatologist, Dr. Susan Landers. She is a determined, high-achieving, trailblazer who let work become her whole life. An episode in her early 40s gave her the opportunity to step back and figure out a new way of relating to work and the other roles in her life.

#55 Are you a warrior or a creator? with Author and Podcast Host Kim Lengling
Wednesday Jul 12, 2023
Wednesday Jul 12, 2023
There are two ways people succeed in their careers. They either fight for everything they have or they create everything they have.
Both people can end up in a so-called successful career. But in most cases, one is happy and fulfilled, and one is often miserable.
The warrior is always looking for what is wrong. They can tell you very clearly what they don’t want. They are 14 steps ahead, looking to prevent and counteract any potential problem.
These are the people who will drop anything and everything to save the day at work. They will give up their weekends and work late hours.
The warrior will know who to avoid in the office, how to fly under the radar, and what sets the boss off.
They do their best to make sure NOBODY knows when their struggling. But sometimes their anger will get the best of them.
They will work harder than anyone else. And will usually get the least amount of appreciation and acknowledgment.
And when they get everything they “thought” they wanted, they will be disappointed and think, “Is this all there is?”
The warrior never knows when to put down the sword. And their job will often take over their whole life.
On the other hand, the creator is clear on what is important to them. And if their job is not providing that, they ask for it - without fear of backlash.
The creator leaves work at work and enjoys their personal life. They are the ones whose ideas are acknowledged and implemented. They are the ones who are appreciated and who people want to be around.
I love taking people from warriors to creators. Because who they become in the end is a powerful creator who has the ability to pick up the sword (if needed). But they don’t live and die by the sword. They get the best of both worlds and they experience the greatest amount of joy in their work and regular lives.
This week’s podcast guest, Kim Lengling, lost her good-paying job with the pandemic hit, and instead of scrambling for something else, she asked herself 3 questions. Which has allowed her to go from a sales and marketing road warrior to a trail-blazing creator.

#54 Are You Hungry with Author Bracha Goetz
Wednesday Jul 05, 2023
Wednesday Jul 05, 2023
Have you ever had that feeling where you eat and 30 minutes later you’re hungry again?
It makes no sense. You KNOW logically you shouldn’t be hungry, but here you are starving. And on top of that, you have no idea what you’re craving. You don’t know what you’re hungry for. So you eat the comfort foods, you eat the ice cream. Because those things usually do the trick and satisfy you.
And an hour later you’re hungry again! So you think you’re starved for nutrients so you try something healthy. But you’re still not satiated.
Here’s the thing, this kind of hunger doesn’t just apply to food. It’s a pattern that’ll show up in many aspects of your life, including your work!
So how does this hunger apply to work?
It starts when you think there is not enough time to get everything done. And I know you’re thinking, “Um, Genea, that’s every day of my life.”
Just hear me out.
You start working longer hours because you need to get everything done. You start getting less and less sleep. Because you’re getting home later, and when you lie in bed your brain is spinning about what you have to do.
You can barely get moving in the morning, but you get up and get your butt to work. You must get it all done!
You use all the things to get you through the day. More caffeine, more food, more sugar. You must override how tired you are because you must do more. You must get more done.
In the back of your head, you’re thinking, “Once I get everything on this list done, then I can relax.”
So you keep going, and you push harder.
But as soon as you get it all done, you see 10 more things that need to be done.
There is no rest for you.
But what you don’t realize is that this pattern is a sign you have an insatiable hunger. You are hungry for doing more. And no matter how much you do it will never be enough.
I know you think there will be some magical endpoint, but there’s not. And if there were, you would have already found it because you’re smart and hardworking.
The key to stopping the hunger is to make yourself realize you’re already full.
So how do you do that?
I’m glad you asked. This hunger is exactly what Bratcha Goetz and I are going to talk about on this week’s podcast. And we’ll give you some tips for stopping the hunger in all areas of your life. Because you deserve to feel like you can put the work down. You deserve to feel full and satiated, so you can feel happy in all areas of your life.

#53 Is Money the Key to Your Happiness with Podcast Host Kevin Palmieri
Wednesday Jun 28, 2023
Wednesday Jun 28, 2023
The sad fact is you need money to survive in today’s world. It takes money to put a roof over your head and food on the table. It takes money to transport you to the place where you will make the money.
So you got a job, and you work hard to get that money.
And once your needs are met, you can breathe. Or can you?
You see for most people, once their basic needs are met, it’s not enough. They’re still not happy.
So they decide they want a nicer house, a nicer car, and better clothes. They think once they have those things they can even get a better relationship. And then they think, once they have ALL of that, “Then, I’ll be happy!”
But how do you get all of that?
More money of course!!
Work harder, get promoted, chase the title that will give you more money!!
And because people want happiness, money becomes the number one priority in people’s lives. Even when they think they’re not money driven. How do I know this?
- People will suffer in jobs they don’t like for years. Why? For the money.
- Most people will only look for new jobs when they lose the one they have. Why? Because they are afraid of not having money.
- Great relationships and friendships fail because of money issues
We’ve all been groomed to believe that more money will buy us happiness. And the truth is, having more money can help to ease our pain. But it won’t buy you happiness.
What logic are we using when we trade 40-60 hours of misery for enough money to ease the pain of that job? Just so you can go back and suffer for another 40-60 hours next week.
More work for more money equals more pain, and you end up needing more things, therapy, self-care, more going out, more retail therapy, more chocolate … so you can deal with work to make more money which equals more pain so you need more …
Wouldn’t it be easier to just end the “suffering at work” part of it all?
My guest on this week’s podcast was on autopilot chasing the money. He was struggling with depression and contemplating ending it all when he heard someone say, “Isn’t it weird that we wake up every day and go to a job we don’t like?” This sparked an aha moment that led him on a path of self-improvement and actually finding happiness.
